By Well, my life is full of days that I want to do things, days where I want to be creative and spontaneous and fun, but not to the point of “I’m just trying to get through the day without thinking about my feelings.
So far in 2017, I have only been able to find one day where I’ve actually tried to be creative. That was Day 5, when I attempted to create a comic book with my art class. I had a couple other art projects going on, but I didn’t feel like I had the time to do anything with them. So I wrote a short story, which I thought I could get some feedback on, and I sent it to the teacher.
I was really happy with the feedback, but honestly I dont know what to make of it. Ive never made a comic before (and Ive seen my art class comic before) so I didnt have much knowledge of the standard process for getting feedback in these situations. Either that, or the teacher just didnt care or wasnt looking for feedback.
We think that feedback is really important. It is our opinion that feedback should be positive, constructive, and honest. If a teacher is going to give feedback, it should be based on what was taught, and the student should be able to see that. At the end of the day, it should be a conversation between you and the teacher.
We always like to do reviews for our blogs, especially in the early days. Sometimes we get a question about the feedback process, so in an effort to help teachers out, we made a quick video that covers the steps of how to ask for feedback, and how to have a productive conversation about it. It took a few weeks of hard work, but we think it’s a great guide.
We’re not saying we like it all, but it’s nice to know what the steps are for asking for feedback and how to have a productive conversation about it.
