So this seems like a stupid question, but I want to know.

The thing is, we can learn so much about ourselves by studying other people. We can learn so much about ourselves by talking to others who have the same kind of mind we do. The reason why we have self awareness is because we can learn what another person is thinking by studying what they are thinking. We can learn a lot about ourselves by learning what the other person is thinking.
If you’re on autopilot for so long you don’t have a clue what to do, you’re no longer able to control yourself, you’re no longer able to control the way you do things. You can stop thinking and behave just like you would in a car. That’s why you need to stop acting like you’re a walking corpse.
