I love sakshi Maharaj – her recipes, her beautiful photography, her personal style. She is a true inspiration for any cook who wants to take their cooking to the next level.
I’m a huge fan of her. I get a lot of inspiration from her recipes because I’m such a big fan of Indian food. But I also understand her philosophy of cooking. She is someone who understands that no two meals should taste the same, and that we shouldn’t be afraid to mix and match things together. She also takes her food seriously and doesn’t just throw things together as a way to entertain people.
sakshi’s recipes are like a language to me. They are not necessarily “Indian” but they have a lot of similarities with Indian food. I love the fact that everyone in the kitchen can learn new things from her as we’re all learning from her. And to her, it is really important to take her time when cooking, so that you dont rush and burn your food.

To her, the key to the success of her kitchen is having a good assistant. She loves to hire talented cooks, but she also loves to hire talented assistants as well. So when she tells you to put the meat on the bone first, you know that you are in for a feast.
Soak the meat in the water, then add the veggies and cook til the meat is done. Once the meat is done, add the rice, and stir everything together. The rice will absorb all the water and cook the rice perfectly.

I was pretty disappointed with the way she put all this together. It’s like she was trying to make a video for someone else’s site. But hey, that’s how she is. She also has a full time job as a chef (she is also a photographer, which doesn’t really help, I know).
